Me

"From disconnection to lineage, from loss to knowing — I guide women home to themselves."

Welina Mai! Hi there, I’m Julia Nālani — Kumu, healer, teacher, and guide for women who need some time to themselves, are ready to find and (re)connect to who they truly are.

As a teen, I disowned my Polynesian heritage. I was ashamed of my brown skin. My father, my first Teacher in Spirituality, Healing, and Lomilomi, passed away when I was young — leaving me with questions and a deep unacknowledged longing that would shape my journey.

From Corporate Life to Purpose

I became a Corporate Executive, using my creative mind to shape ideas, create training, mentor, and trail-blaze new ways to do things. But the world I had built wasn’t enough, and after my self-designed solitude retreat on the side of a mountain. I made the choice to step away and dedicate myself to helping women find who they truly want to be. In the process I found more of me.

Spiritual Awakening and Lineage

Training in Holistic Psychotherapy and Eco-psychology revealed that true healing begins at the spiritual level. This ignited a flame to reconnect with my Tahitian-Norfolk Islander heritage. I began with Lomilomi Massage training, which opened questions I couldn’t answer (and either could my Teacher) — until I found my Kumu. I trained deeply and was recognised as a Kumu of his Lineage, entrusted to carry forward these sacred teachings.

Carrying the Work Forward

Alongside my lineage training, I hold post-graduate university qualifications in Business, Holistic Psychotherapy, Coaching, Mentoring, Eco-Psychology and Alternative Dispute Mediation, and training in Remedial Massage. I learned Lomilomi in childhood and later returned to train in it again, along with the other Healing Methods of our Lineage like Hoʻoponopono. As a Lineage Kumu, my role is not only to practise, but to hold, protect and pass on the Teachings in their entirety — the ways of thinking, living and being that allow these Practices to remain whole for future generations. This commitment to continuity is what shapes the work I offer today.

Guiding Women Today

Today, I guide women through healing, alignment, and personal growth. Through Hoʻoponopono, Lomilomi, Community Hula, Mentoring. Dispute Mediation and Courses, I help women clear what weighs them down, reconnect to their spiritual foundation, find and themselves, and boldly step into that clarity feeling light, purposeful, joyful and grounded.

I kēia manawa - the time is now. You deserve the time and investment in yourself - no guilt, it’s time for you..

Who stands behind me

Knowing who stands behind me is important in Hawaiian Cutlure. It tells other people who you are and where you come from. Our Lineage is 51 Generations strong. Kumuʻs Ancestors were the first to arrive in Halawa Valley during the great migrations which lasted until the 1400ʻs. Our Lineage is known for the what we have preserved. It is with Anakala Pilipoʻs blessing and permission, that our teachings were brought to non-Hawaiians in 2012. Since Ankalaʻs passing a few years ago, Kumu Paʻa Nui Lawrence is at the head of our branch of the Lineage Tree. And it is up to us, the four 51st Generation Kumuʻs teaching, to continue the work into this century.
